Rejoicing with Vicar Anteneh and his Family
We rejoice with Vicar Anteneh on his call to Resurrection Lutheran Church in Arlington, VA, as Associate Pastor. His ordination will be at the church he served on internship in Kansas on December 10. He and his family plan on spending Christmas with us and moving on to his new call by the end of December.
Pumpkin Sunday
Our first annual Pumpkin Sunday was a great success. Some 215 loaves of bread were delivered to: The Union Rescue Mission, the Baltimore Street Y, Laura’s Anchor on Arch Street in Cumberland, The Family Crisis Center, a group home in BelAir, the Inter-Faith Food Pantry in Cumberland, the Western Maryland Food Bank, and 2 individuals who showed up at CLC on Monday who were in need.

It’s A Girl!
Congratulations to Vicar Anteneh and Sophia on the birth of a baby girl July 29. Johanna weighed 8 lb. 3.2 ounces and joins her brother, Yonni.
We Did It!
Many thanks to everyone who worked together to help Vicar Anteneh and family move and be welcomed into our church family. Thanks to all who donated or loaned furniture, the moving teams moving the area furniture, and the moving team bringing household items from Gettysburg. Thanks, also, to Carolyn Schrock for hours of coordination, the ladies who worked to get the house ready, even planting flowers! As always, when our church family sees a need, we work together to be a blessing and, in return, we are blessed.
Picture Directory
A big THANK YOU to project manager, Darlene Bacon, committee members and helpers for working to get individuals and families to participate in the 2011 Picture Directory Project. Special thanks to George Small for going the “extra mile” taking pictures of shut-ins and folks not available on scheduled picture days. The completed Directory should arrive in November.
